The Right Reverend Pihopa Susan Wallace (Ngā Puhi, Ngāti Wai, Ngāti Hine, Ngāti Whātua, Te Roroa, Ngāti Wairere, Ngāti Ruanui, Ngāti Tama, Ngāti Rārua, Waitaha, Kāti Mamoe, Kai Tahu) is Bishop of Te Waipounamu and the first woman elected to lead Te Hui Amorangi o Te Waipounamu, the Anglican Māori Diocese of the South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand. A respected Māori leader with more than 30 years of experience across the Anglican Church, iwi governance, education, public service, health,and community development, Susan has led organisational transformation, cultural revitalisation and governance initiatives at local, national and international levels. She is passionate about nurturing emerging leaders, strengthening communities, and advancing Te Oranga Ake (flourishing life for all) with a deep commitment to justice, service and wellbeing.
