Born in apartheid-era South Africa, Sam Featherstone came of age under two totalist systems: a Christian-nationalist state and a small fundamentalist Christadelphian group awaiting Armageddon. In response to the global rise of religious nationalism, she is writing a coming-of-age memoir about extricating herself from the Christadelphians. Sam is now based in Aotearoa New Zealand.

After the Decult conference, the Olive Leaf Network offers trainings and workshops with US cult expert Rachel Bernstein in Auckland and Wellington.
