Brandie Hadfield is a registered psychotherapist (Qualifying) whose work is shaped by lived experience inside a wellness-focused commercial cult. Drawn to new-age spirituality in early adulthood, she later saw how the search for meaning can be manipulated — especially for new parents seeking community. Her research explores how neurodivergent traits such as hyperfocus and justice sensitivity can be exploited in high-control groups, and how they can become strengths in recovery. She now advocates for survivors of cults, narcissistic abuse and coercive workplaces, bringing an anti-oppressive, compassionate and humorous approach to therapy.
