New Zealand’s second cult awareness conference “Voices of Courage: Pathways to Healing and Justice” will be held from 24 – 25 October at Christchurch Town Hall (and online). After the sold-out success of Decult 2024, our small hui with a big impact presents another groundbreaking opportunity for strengthening professional networks, personal connections and survivor peer-support. Experts, advocates and story tellers will address a wide range of topics from human rights to mental health. Let’s take action to drive the change that is needed!
We can guarantee an enriching, stimulating and engaging experience held in a safe space that respects diversity. Everyone, regardless of their background, faith or belief, is welcome to join us. We’re especially inviting educators, health workers, first responders, media and legal professionals – and those with a lived experience of group-based coercive control.
If you’re a cult survivor with financial hardship and can’t afford to attend Decult 2026, then you can apply until 31 July to be supported through the Decult Scholarship Fund. We want to include everyone.

Our relaxed conference dinner with special guests at the Victoria Free House on 24 October includes a three-course buffet and live entertainment. The traditional pub with tasty Indian food is only a short walk across the park from our conference venue in the heart of Christchurch.
