Highlights from the Conference Survey
The Decult 2024 conference was put together by 10 core volunteers and 30 more volunteers during the conference. It had over 550 attendees total, including 270 online.

A total of 46% of all survey respondents identify as cult leavers
- 96.8% of attendees felt safe and supported throughout the conference. They pointed out the safe, supportive atmosphere with respectful engagement and empathetic facilitators, and effective support for trauma survivors, even in online sessions.
- 99% said they would recommend Decult to others. Many ranked Decult as the most impactful event they’ve ever attended, highlighting its impactful and well-received nature. The high satisfaction rates underscore the event’s success in fostering community and advocacy.
- Over NZ$40,000 was contributed to support the Decult conference through crowdfunding for a video documentary, in-kind sponsorships such as goods and services, and general donations from individuals and partners, including contributions to sponsor tickets for underprivileged attendees.
